To many unnecessary walls in this first floor needed to come down to expand the space for a larger more grander kitchen. The wall between the dining room and living room came out to push back the kitchen and give plenty of space for an island the homeowner wanted. The fridge became hidden in the all of pantries to blend in and not call itself to attention. The microwave and double range were built into cabinets to frame them in and leave more space for countertop and cabinets. A large island was perfect for dine in eating and entertaining guests while bringing extra storage and more places for appliances. Floating shelves on top of running bond glass tile are a different and beautiful way to showcase and store dishes without blocking out the full height backsplash.
