This outdated kitchen needed new cabinets and a new layout. High ceiling heights were not taken advantage of and had many options of design. A wall was knocked down to expand the kitchen and allow for a dine-in eating area. The high ceiling height was taken advantage of with tall cabinets and large molding to close it off. By knocking down the wall the fridge could move over and the cabinets could wrap around the corner. A smaller depth cabinet was placed in front of the doorway to cap off the dishwasher but not cut into the walking way. A peninsula was added for dine-in experience and more storage. Creating a visual wall between the two rooms the peninsula was the perfect compromise to get everything they wanted. Fun accent tile mimics the color of the countertop and unifies the room by going all the way around. An extra row was added under the hood to bring your eyes upwards. Open corner wall shelf shows off the families items they have collected over the years.
