This second floor walk up apartment was not ready for the streets of Boston. Outdated white cabinets may have fit the scene years ago, but this family was ready to update and start anew. Cherry chestnut cabinets were installed in the same layout as the previous cabinets but with a minor twist. A bar area was created off to the side by the sliding door to keep guests entertained and away from cooking area. The island was slightly enlarged to create another spot for seating at the end. The soffit was taken down and the cabinets were extended to the ceiling with a beautiful crown to top it off. A soapstone countertop and travertine tile created the perfect amount of contrast to the dark stained cabinets allowing for a natural look that captures the daylight.
