This deck home kitchen with its characteristic cathedral ceilings and exposed structures felt closed off to the rest of the living space because of an added wall of tall cabinetry. Our challenge was to design a new eat-in kitchen that didn’t sacrifice storage and was more open to the rest of the living space for entertaining and 360 degrees of their wooded surround. The rich cherry cabinets and natural soapstone countertops keep the space feeling natural and help the new kitchen to blend in with the architectural appeal of the deck home. In the end we created a kitchen that looks like it could have been there all along! The chiseled natural slate backsplash helps to add texture to the space and the silky travertine floors give a nice base to this modern deck home kitchen.
