Great Room Expansion-Project 1677

The first floor of this house was way to boxy and the rooms were just not spacious enough for this family. To solve the problem we knocked down the walls creating one large room which allowed for a larger kitchen and dining room. With a open concept plan, the opportunities became endless for this design. Extra storage that was needed became available to them as well as an eat-in dining area where everyday activities could take part. To create a longer run of cabinets, full height wall/base cabinets were used under the TV to create the look of a longer run of cabinets even though the depth would not be the same. Utilities were needed to stay in the original spot which helped with the basic layout being able to fall together. The materials of this room compliments the feel of the rest of the house while adding in its own subtle hint of excitement.
