Kitty-Corner - Project 1864

This kitchen really got a face lift when the outdated cabinets were replaced by new cabinets and countertops. They layout of the kitchen was to stay as close to the original layout as it could with minor changes being made to accompany the requirements of the family. The fridge was built into the cabinets giving it more structure and the range was moved so the hot and cold wouldn't compete with each other. Once the eating nook was taken out, a peninsula was added to allow the family to keep the same daily routines but access the space more easily. The room was also no longer broken up. The contrast between the countertop and cabinets are pleasing to the eye and make the kitchen feel like a more elegant place. The backsplash tile adds a little pop of fun around the room and are great for splashes that occur on a daily basis.
