The owners of this split-level ranch were looking for an updated space with more storage solutions and a better work flow to integrate the outside with the inside. By removing the original back door within the kitchen footprint we were able to extend the countertop work space and cabinet storage as well as the window above the sink to maintain the natural light coming in to the space. We also swapped out the windows in their dining space with sliders for access to the deck for better entertaining and added natural light for their dining and living room space. The clean Nantucket blue brick style backsplash contrasts the bright white cabinets and warm mahogany accent shelves while the gray/blue tile plank flooring grounds the space and adds a little more texture and depth.
